After beta testing for over four months, now we’re confident and exciting to announce that the official release date for Pagico 3.2 is set on Dec 19th, 2008, for both Mac and Windows.
Here we’d like to express our special thanks to the users who have been actively helping us in the past few months. Without you, we couldn’t have reached where we are right now. Four months ago, the Pagico 3.1 was almost released like a “beta-stage” program compared to what it is now: so much easier to use, with so many great, but also concentrated features.
Now, let’s summarize what’s new in this major update: Read more »
9 RespondsHi all,
It just keeps getting exciting these days! Just as we are approaching the end of the Pagico 3.2 beta for Mac and Windows, we have not forgotten our friends on linux: the development and testing for Pagico 3.2 on Linux systems have been started.
Screenshots are not yet available for public, but will be very shortly. The Pagico 3.2 beta for Linux systems will not take that long as the Mac version does, as the majority part of the code base will stay the same, and has been fully tested.
This time, as usual, we’re making for Ubuntu system first (Ubuntu 8.04, to be precise), then other linux systems.
Specific time frame for the availability for a beta is still too amateur to announce now, but we’ll share that date with you as soon as the development gets on track.
Stay tuned. ![]()
Hi folks,
Just to let you know that a new beta release for both platforms has been released! Along with other minor improvements, the most important new feature in this release would be the proxy support (hooray!). Now users behind corporation proxy servers can start using Pagico. Not just activating, but also MobileNote features!!
How to resolve the “blank screen” issue in Pagico 3.2.1.98 on Mac
Some of you, when upgrading to Pagico 3.2.1.98 on your Mac, may have experienced the “blank screen” issue. This is because the the framework was partially upgraded, and so it’s corrupted.
So if you have encountered this issue, you need to first uninstall your Pagico (just make sure your database is not in your Applications folder, so you’ll not lose any data), and install the latest beta (.99) to fix the issue.
But here’s the change list:
So, go ahead and pick your download below:
Also a great news, we’ve just got ourselves a new big fat storage server, and we’re really happy about its performance. So from now on we’re going to archive all the older versions, which means, if you really want to roll back, for some great reason, you really can.
However, this server is still a freshman, so there might be bumps. Just in case the links above don’t work, here’s the links on our old server: Pagico 3.2.1.98 for Windows and Pagico 3.2.1.100 for Mac.
Enjoy!! ![]()
Hi there,
We’ve just spotted a serious compatibility bug in our latest Windows release, so we made an immediate fix for it.
The issue is that on some windows machines, the application will not even launch without a whole bunch of error messages. If you have encountered this situation, please remove Pagico on your system using “Add / Remove programs” in your Control Panel, then download it here and re-install it.
This issue does not affect your data, or anything else on your system.
To download it again, please click here.
This release does not contain any improvement, and is still 3.2.1.95. If your Pagico doesn’t have the issue mentioned above, you do not need to download and update.
Thank you very much!
No RespondAs most of you might know, we’ve been doing the beta program for Pagico 3.2 on both platforms for almost four months, and the benefit of this long beta has been outstanding: we were able to locate and fix many bugs and glitches based on the vast amount of inputs from our users, and more importantly, many very creative and useful improvements were made during this period. And because of this, the most recent beta releases have been very stable and come with very few known-issues left.
However, there is only one thing which is still being testing in our tiny lab — the support for proxy servers. Reported by many users, especially those who work in big corporations that use web proxy servers to handle internet connection for computers, people behind a proxy server could not even activate the program, not to mention the MobileNote feature and other network-dependent features in the program. And this is not tolerable. So we’ve spent the time, totally rewrote the network library in the Pagico framework, so it has the capability of communicating through a proxy server.
Also, we’ve recompiled the entire Pagico framework for Mac systems as four-way universal binaries, so now there is only one installer package for all the possible mac platforms, compared to four in the past. There’s no feature-wise improvements, but fewer parts means fewer problems.
The direct benefit for normal users would be the size of the installer package shrink to almost half of its brother.
So here’s something about the future. Among all other improvements on our plan, the most major improvement would be the data-engine upgrade. Right now we’re using a close-source light-weight database engine that worked wonderfully in the past year. However, we’re not stopped here. We want to push the reliability, performance, and usability to the next level, by switching to a more powerful yet industry-standard database system.
With this kind of data engine, the direct benefit for users will be tremendous:
In addition, a theme switcher will be introduced, so users can choose their own favorite user interface (one of the most important advantage of Pagico framework over regular applications) by just a few clicks. And, web designers will be able to design new themes on their own.
At last but not least, network-based collaboration. You know, and we know you wanted it. There are tons of tough competitors on this market now, but we are confident that Pagico is a very unique platform, which has a lot of potential in this direction. We have lots of advantages that other players don’t have.
Okay, now it’s time to back to “now”. Right now we’re still testing the newly compiled framework, as well as the proxy support, so soon there will be a new beta release. Once these two issues are tackled, we’re good to go!
Have a great weekend!
Meng
Greetings folks! How was the Halloween weekend? Well, in addition to the candies (if any), we’ve got something sweet for you too!
Take close a look at this screenshot. Did you see the new bottom toolbar with the popup menu? Yes! That’s the new addition to the Pagico 3.2.1.95. Now you have the ability of writing QuickNotes without switching screens, and creating new stuff easier and faster (if you’re not a keyboard maniac). Read more »

19 RespondsHey folks, just thought you’d like to know that we’ve been working around the clock, working on the Pagico 3.2 on Windows project. We’ve completely rebuilt the Windows application code, with tons of improvements over the old version.
However, some of you might say: “well, it’s a new app, then it’s gotta have lots of bugs”. Indeed, it’s new, but it’s built on a very stable technology, which is time-proven. So we’re gonna sort out major bugs in it, and release it to you guys by this weekend so you can check it out while it’s hot.

7 RespondsBeta Status
After 3 months of beta testing, now we’re confident to tell you that the Pagico 3.2.1.89 is the best Pagico release we’ve ever delivered. However, that statement is referring to the Mac edition. So what about the Windows edition? Right. As the Mac edition is our top priority, so the Windows edition has always been slightly slower than the Mac version. But we’re working on improving the Windows version now: adding the navigation menu bar, PDF / Print capability, bug-fixes in the text editor, etc. But it’s not gonna take too long — we’re almost there.
Therefore, stay tuned folks. We’re looking forward to the final release of the Pagico 3.2 on both platforms very soon.

Hey folks,
Now we’re excited to let you know that the new Online Help website which is dedicated to providing help, tips and tutorials for Pagico users, is now online! With richer content, easier navigation system, we’re replacing the original “tutorials section” with this whole new website.
The site now contains basic instructions on a wide range of features in Pagico. However, it is still in beta stage, which means we’re still busy adding new stuff to it. And if you have any suggestions, please feel free to let us know by either way:
1) Write on the wall (there’s a “Wall” in the sidebar of the new site)
2) Leave your opinions and questions under the specific topics
